Teresa Waddington(Award Presenter) Vice President, Corporate Relations, LNG Canada

    Teresa Waddington is Vice President, Corporate Relations at LNG Canada, a Shell-PETRONAS-PetroChina-Mitsubishi Corporation-KOGAS Joint Venture that is building Canada’s first large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, in the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation. After earning a degree in chemical engineering, Teresa began her career at Shell, working across projects, commercial, development, maintenance, operations and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment). She joined LNG Canada in 2020.

    Teresa is on a mission to turn her dad’s oilpatch into her daughter’s energy garden, helping to plant and nurture the molecules, electrons, technologies, policies and workforce that will drive our energy transition. Teresa believes in thinking big and understands that the intersection of creativity and technology will be the ultimate transformational force in our society. Teresa has a YouTube channel, where she animates a variety of industry-relevant topics. She contributes personal essays to the Globe & Mail newspaper, often inspired by activities and experiences with her three children and husband. Teresa is an active volunteer, serving on several boards, and she leads her children’s Scout troop. She is always seeking to connect and communicate around energy.
