Shannon PestunSr. Advisor, Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub

    Originating from the Métis homeland and Treaty 1 territory, Shannon now resides in Treaty 7 territory and is a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta. A former business banker, Shannon was one of the first women in the country to lead a women’s banking strategy and one of seven women appointed to Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy Expert Panel. Her experience and commitment to building an inclusive economy has made a sought-after finance consultant and trusted voice for educators, government, industry and media. Today she’s the Senior Adviser, Business and Finance for the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub, the CEO of Pestun Consulting and the Co-Founder of The Finance Cafe. She also serves on Mount Royal University’s board of governors and is a board member at NPower Canada. Shannon is deeply committed to bolstering Indigenous economic prosperity, driving economic growth and bringing an Indigenous-centered approach to her work. In 2020, she created the Gifting Circle Bursary for Indigenous women entrepreneurs raising over $150,000 in support of advancing Indigenous women’s entrepreneurship.
