Sandi Morrisseau is currently the Indigenous Relations Advisor for Strad Inc., an industrial matting services company based in Calgary. She is also Vice President of 3 S Consulting Services Inc, a company that works with organizations to manage and navigate the ever-changing and complex issues and opportunities involving Indigenous communities, governments, and corporate Canada.
She has over 30 years of experience working with Indigenous people at the community, national, federal government, and corporate levels. She worked with Nexen Energy, Shell Canada and CNOOC as lead for Aboriginal Relations. She has a strong background and knowledge of the cultural and legal challenges of Indigenous people in Canada. During her time working in industry, she has been instrumental in building and enhancing relationships with Indigenous communities and external stakeholders. She also has extensive experience in the development of Indigenous policy instruments to aid with implementation efforts of companies working with Indigenous communities.
Sandi was the Chair of the Calgary Aboriginal Urban Affairs Committee (CAUAC) and is proud of her work in assisting in the development of a ground-breaking Indigenous Framework for the City of Calgary, the first of its kind in Canada. The report received high praise from City counsellors; one called it the best report to ever come out of the City of Calgary and ‘essential’ reading for every Calgarian.
Sandi has a BA is Mass Communications from Carleton University. She is currently pursuing an EMBA in Indigenous Business Leadership at Simon Fraser University in BC. She is from the Sagkeeng First Nation, signatory to Treaty 1 in Manitoba. She currently resides in Calgary with her life partner Steven and their son Saagaate. Sandi also has a love of interior design and a passion for creating beautiful environments. She received her certification in Home Staging from Mount Royal University.
