Mitch Mercredi, proud member of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) in Treaty 8 territory, was recently appointed to lead a high priority area of Deloitte’s Nation Building Advisory practice, focusing on the pillar of Land: Economic Development and Natural Resources. With his background in negotiating, business development, partnerships, relationship-building, natural resources, and much more, he is passionate about the power of strategic partnerships when it comes to driving growth in Indigenous communities and nations.

In the spring of 2023, he completed his Executive Masters in Business Administration at Simon Fraser University, with a focus on Indigenous Business and Leadership. He has served as past president and director for the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association. In his personal time he enjoys fishing, camping, powwow dancing/singing, and spending time with his wife and kids.
