Jolene — a proud Wolastoqiyik from Neqotkuk First Nation, New Brunswick, is a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and entrepreneur who has spent the last 25 years reconnecting with her Indigenous roots.
In 2018, she founded Wabanaki Maple, creating value-added maple syrup products that have gained nationwide recognition and expanded into export markets. Her entrepreneurial journey has earned her several prestigious awards, including the RBC Canadian & Women of Influence Micro-Business Award, the Resilience Award from Opportunity New Brunswick and the Female Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ulnooweg’s Development Group.
In addition and beyond her business success, Jolene is dedicated to giving back to her community, fostering a reconnection with Indigenous culture and promoting sustainable growth for future generations.
