When many groups were still recovering from the Covid 19 downturn in 2022, Alan’s band was booked and performed numerous concerts every year to the present date, including a trip to St. John’s NFLD and Toronto Ontario.
Also in 2021 Alan & The Thundermakers performed their first concert as part of the “Fusion Sessions” with Symphony NS. Then due to highly successful reviews, they were asked to perform again with Symphony NS in March 2022, this time as part of the “Pjila’si Sessions”. These concerts were mesmerizing and are now approaching 5k views on youtube. (See below for links to these performances)

The group consist of Alan Syliboy – group leader/percussion & spoken word artist, Evan Syliboy (Alan’s son) Lead electric guitar, Hubert Francis star of Brookes Diamond production, “Drum” from Elsipogtog First Nation, Lukas Pearse – Bassist (Video Mapping technician), Joanne Hatfield – Vocal/guitar/keyboard, Aaron Prosper – Vocal/percussion, Matt Gallant – Drum Kit
Spoken Word – Alan’s original spoken word songs are performance highlights leaving many audience members in tears during his presentation.
Video accompaniment – Alan’s art is featured in a video presentation projected on screens during the group’s performances. The video is carefully selected and is programmed to accompany the theme of each song throughout their concerts. This has added immense beauty to their production.
Alan frequently calls upon Indigenous dancers including “The Thundergirls” who dance in traditional Mi’kmaw regalia, and wow the audience with their performances.
Also Alan has close ties to award winning Mi’kmaw dancer and artistic director, Sarah Prosper, (sister of Thundermaker -Aaron Prosper). Sarah performs with the band as available.
Although Alan’s core group remains consistent, when needed he will call upon other talented performers from his network of musicians across the province.
