Discover Vancouver

Vancouver is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. The peoples of these Nations have lived on and cared for this land since time immemorial. We acknowledge them as the past, present, and future stewards of these lands and express our deep gratitude for their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

Historically, land acknowledgments are a traditional practice among Indigenous Nations to recognize the territory they are visiting. Today, they continue to be a meaningful way to honour the original caretakers and reaffirm relationships with Indigenous communities.
