Bryanne SmartSenior Reconciliation Consultant, NVision Insight

    Bryanne Smart (She/Her) is a proud member of the Six Nations of the Grand River, Seneca Nation, Turtle Clan. She believes that building strong foundational relationships is essential across all areas of her work. Specializing in Indigenous community-led and strength-based approaches, Bryanne focuses on engagement, research, program development and implementation, strategic planning, and facilitation.

    As the Senior Reconciliation Consultant at NVision Insight Group, Bryanne leads initiatives aimed at advancing Reconciliation with organizations nationwide. Her passion lies not only in creating change at the organizational level but also in fostering personal connections that lead to improved outcomes and relationships.

    Previously, Bryanne was the Associate Director, Indigenous Relations in the Co-operative and Experiential Education department at the University of Waterloo. In this role, she led Reconciliation and Indigenization efforts, collaborating with Indigenous work-integrated learning (WIL) practitioners across Canada and worldwide to enhance Indigenous WIL initiatives at various institutions and program.

    With over 20 years of experience, Bryanne has dedicated her career to working with Indigenous individuals, communities, and organizations, particularly within colonial and institutional contexts. Her past roles include positions with Indspire, the Ontario Native Women’s Association, Aboriginal Legal Services, and an Indigenous-led criminal law practice.

    Bryanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Administration, and a Master’s in Aboriginal Education and Leadership. She also serves as Chair of the Board for De Dwa Da Dehs Nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre and is a Board Member for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division.
