My name is Kimberly Gorgichuk, and I am the Senior Program Officer for the Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs (IWE) Program at NACCA.  My pronouns are she/her/kwe. I was born and raised in Ontario and a proud member of Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation located in Golden Lake, Renfrew County, Ontario where my grandmothers were from. I reside in Treaty 6, in Edmonton Alberta and have enjoyed a fulfilling career in Project Management for over 20 years. I have supported a large portfolio of projects across eastern and western Canada including Indigenous Tourism’s Indigenous Business Advisory (IBA) Program. Two years ago, I joined NACCA’s IWE Team to help to launch and deliver the IWE Program which seeks to break down systemic barriers, increase access to financing and capital, increase the Indigenous women’s knowledge of managing their own finances and help them to become well versed in entrepreneurship. Prior to joining NACCA, I had started my own journey in entrepreneurship. After working as a Project Manager for Land Acquisition Projects across Alberta, I formed a corporation in consulting and Project Management support. My main clients included First Nations small businesses and First Nations organizations.  I helped my clients deliver successful projects by applying my expertise in today’s technology and Project Management tools and techniques. As a member of NACCA’s IWE Program team, I continuously support Indigenous Women to build a foundation to self-employment, gain financial independence, develop their business knowledge to sustain or grow a successful business for generations in an ever-changing economy but at a national level of outreach.
